Established in 2018, the Honorary Consulate of Lebanon in Aotearoa New Zealand is here to provide administrative support and assistance for Lebanese people in Aotearoa New Zealand.
We operate under the jurisdiction of the Embassy of Lebanon in Canberra - Australia, which extends to the whole of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea.
By engaging with diverse communities, leaders and businesses in New Zealand we aim to raise awareness of Lebanese people in New Zealand to create new opportunities.
Henriette Nakhle MNZM, QSM
Honorary Consul for Lebanon in New Zealand
Henriette is a strong believer in community development and plays a vital role in supporting community organisations, including the Totara Hospice and the St Elias Melkite Catholic Church.
In 2006, Henriette was awarded a Queens Service Medal for her significant and much-admired contribution to the community.
She was appointed Honorary Consul for Lebanon in New Zealand by the Lebanese government in 2017.
Henriette and her husband, Elias Nakhle, have created a number of successful businesses in manufacturing and land development since their arrival in New Zealand.
Hana Malak JP
Senior Lead Engagement Officer
Hana completed her Bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in business at AUT. She also holds a Masters degree in Communications -Public relations. She has multiple university Awards and certificates for her leadership work, and she is a recognised young multi-ethnic leader of NZ.
She has a deep passion for the social justice space, particularly in developing ethnic capacity within leadership and economies. During this time, she also manages the Lebanity Trust’s Events and Programs since 2019. She has done great work and achieved great success.
Hana believes that representation matters in every organisation, big or small.
Hana is also so Justice of the Peace Officer (JP) serving the Manukau region.
